Please if a DVD or other media is used to install a VM, use this media ONLY to complete a installation and don't start to use internet to "update" the data
After furnished from the media the user can decide if it will update or not.
After downloading 3.3 Gbyte of ISO data it still use my slow internet to update the VM image.
It take ages to get my VM working.
Thanks

Re: Installation from DVD
That’s a feature of the OS installer you downloaded, not the VirtualBox software.
Try simply disabling the VM’s network connection in the VirtualBox Manager VM settings for the duration of the installation if there is no option to prevent the OS installation process from looking for updates. The Windows 10/11 installers do offer that option when performing a manual installation and earlier Windows versions don’t need internet access, i.e. you need to avoid using the VirtualBox Unattended Installation feature if you want/need greater control. I can’t recall seeing anything similar in the many ‘Linux' installers I’ve used although, in my experience, they tend to only search for updates post installation when the VM OS is first used.
