Hi All,
I was trying to setup VirtualBox on my new M4 Mac.
I was able to download VB 7.14. However, there is no link
to the Windows OS?
I did set it up on my old Mac but don't quite remember if there was a link to Windows,
if it was incorporated into VB, or I had to go to the Microsoft site to download.
Please advise.
Thanks

Unfortunately, VirtualBox on Apple Silicon does not yet support Windows. I am not sure when this support will be added. On the other hand, Linux does run very well under VirtualBox on Apple Silicon.
VirtualBox does NOT include Windows. If/when it does support the OS you will have to download it separately from Microsoft.

So I could probably use Linux for the time being. Just need to figure out what code I need to run it.
Happy Holidays.

Ask 10 geeks and you'll get 10 different recommendations. Just make sure you get an ARM64 distribution.
I had success with Debian: https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/cu ... 64/iso-cd/

That's hillarious!

Got it! I'll figure it out.
Thanks

I'm using it with Windows 10 and it's working properly.

Hello Troy,
you installed Windows 10 in Virtual Box on a Mac silicon ?
My I ask you several questions ?
- Did you use a windows 10 iso file to do it ?
- Do you have all the equipements working properly (pad, camera, usb...) ? You had to install some drivers afterward ?
- Have you tried from an Windows 11 iso also ?
thanks

@Xavier,
The post you have responded to was a one-off posting from someone who who had just joined the Forum on the same day; and has not logged back in since that posting.
I wil leave it to you to decide whether or not there is any merit in a statement made without any supporting evidence, especially given that Windows 10 for ARM never reached maturity, as Microsoft's development focus shifted entirely to Windows 11 for ARM - Windows 10 now only receives security updates and that will also cease later this year when the product will reach 'End of Life'.
If you are looking for a way to install and run a reliable and functional Windows 11 for ARM VM, i.e. a 'production ready' environment, VirtualBox cannot yet provide that, but the Development Team is known to be working towards a solution, building on the support already delivered for Linux ARM64 VMs.
As for device Drivers compatible with Windows 11 for ARM64, that's primarily down to the individual hardware providers and Microsoft to develop/compile ARM compatible versions, as existing x64 versions won't work. IME that support started very slowly and is still patchy, especially for 'older' hardware, so all you can do is check the availability for any hardware devices you may want/need to connect.
