Can't explain why you have trouble posting. It's clearly working for the vast majority of the users.

I Volunteer To Change Building For OS X Documentation To Building For macOS
Information Is Out Dated And Needs A Tidy Up
Other Documentation Could Need A Tidy Up As Well

Look Forward To Your Reply

Build instructions are always at risk to be outdated (and it's hard work to get it accurate because our internal build env is known to work and there are countless variations possible)... What do you propose to change? Because just replacing the OS name won't help much.

I just wanted to try to post here, as I'm getting:

Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://forums.virtualbox.org/posting.php?" on this server.

when I go to the VirtualBox on Linux Hosts to try to post my Guru Meditation error log dump...

any ideas?

That's totally weird - you're the 2nd user who reached me with this issue and the 1st user who was able to post in this forum but not where originally planned. I have no immediate idea what's going wrong.

Can you provide me with the error ID shown on the error page (needed for tracking down the error details with Akamai) plus an as accurate as possible time when you got the error (second resolution, either directly in UTC or give me the time offset and I'll do the math for you). Then I can try to find something in the logs. Please be as accurate as you can, even though the exact second value is unlikely to match there are many accesses per second to the servers and that quickly means if you're too inaccurate I can't find the needle in the haystack.

Make sure that you provide this information in this thread, because then I can additionally assume that your IP address is the same.

Thanks for your cooperation!

There's significant frustration among users regarding the lack of support for VirtualBox, particularly with ongoing bugs and communication from developers. While moderators like mpack and scottgus1 do their best to assist, some users feel their recent interactions have been less supportive. Establishing a clearer channel for bug reporting directly to developers could improve communication and ensure feedback isn't overlooked. Meanwhile, for those looking for a distraction during troubleshooting, the "Getting Over It" APK + OBB files offer a fun way to relieve stress while waiting for fixes.

I am a new forum user who is attempting to post messages, without success, about a problem in VirtualBox 7.1.4. I spent a fair amount of time creating my post, and tried to be very careful to include all of the required information and a detailed description of the problem. There were no links in my post, and no other content that is not allowed to the best of my knowledge. My post was created successfully, and I later added a log file as an attachment. For a while the post said that it was awaiting moderator approval, but now it has completely disappeared from the forum, almost as if it was never there. The attachment still shows up under my user profile, but the link to the original thread doesn't work. I received no message or warning that my post had been deleted. Why was my post deleted? What do I have to do to get a post accepted on this site?

My original post was entitled "NAT Adapter Fails to Connect using VirtualBox 7.1.4" and it was posted to the Windows Guests section of the site.

A bit of patience is all that's needed - for moderator approval of the first few posts of a new forum user. Nothing gets lost or rejected unless there's a very good reason (which will be given). It's sad, yes, but in today's internet we'd have the forum full of spam if we'd let every new user post immediately without a quick peek...

Hello,

i just registered and had to communicate & suggest some issues & resolutions abut VirtualBox on Linux hosts. Was not able to start a new topic and received an error when pressing Submit. At least I was "wise" enough to save all my composition as I couldn't return back to the form.
I then sent a private message to the moderators explaining this issue and learned that I have no "sent" messages in my private profile messaging.

I have now two questions:

- how can i reach VirtualBox devs/folks to report issues ?
- what is the purpose of my registration effort (not to mention the investigation, resolution & almost lost new topic composition)on this forum now, since I cannot post anything?

Thank you in advance.

Developers read this forum. Although not always fast enough to make everyone happy. By definition developers have other responsibilities and have to partition their time accordingly. And you have posted something. If you have/had a error/problem you have to be more specific.
