VirtualBox not work with Apple Keyboard

I'm using my Mac Mini with an Apple Keyboard to remote to a Windows 10 x64 PC.
I'm having VirtualBox installed on Windows 10 PC

The Apple Magic mouse work with the VM, but the keyboard did not work.

It appears you have a Windows 10 host computer running a Virtualbox guest. You are using a Mac as a remote-control client, and you are remoting into the Windows PC from the Mac.

Apparently you can control the PC with the Apple keyboard but the Virtualbox guest does not respond to the Apple keyboard.

Does the Windows 10 PC have a USB keyboard? If so, can you unplug this keyboard from the PC, plug it into your Mac and try the remote process using the PC keyboard?

I just plugged the USB keyboard to my Mac Mini and still not work, all hot keys work well, but alphabet keys not work. The space key show the character "d", the numeric keys show the alphabet character

What we are trying to track down is the failure in this chain:

keyboard > Mac > Remote-software > Windows PC > Virtualbox > Guest OS.

The "Windows PC > Virtualbox > Guest OS" is very stable and has been for a long time. So the likely suspects are the "keyboard > Mac > Remote-software > " part.

Can you attach the Apple keyboard to the Windows 10 PC and try to use the guest there? Also see how the guest works with the USB PC keyboard?

And what software are you using to remote-control the guest? Also are you remoting into the guest OS itself? Or to the Windows host OS?

I had similar issue. no letters were working, space printed as "d". fixed with choosing macos windows app => connections => keyboard mode => scancode
