Win 10 VM freezes randomly (help please)

Post by Lordello »

Hi,

I have a Win 10 Home VM that is freezing randomly even if I'm not using it (running on background). The VM window keeps running fine, the menu works normal, but process level icon freeze when the VM freeze. Sending Ctrl Alt Del through the VM menu doesn't do nothing.
It is running on a Win 11 PC.

The VM does not have much apps installed, just Google Chrome, Team View, and a VPN client. It been set to 8GB RAM, 4 processor cores and 50GB storage.

It was working fine until I've updated my PC from Win 10 to 11 (the VM it's still on W10). After the update I've started to notice the freezing. The VM was created on some old version of Oracle Virtual Box, I don't remember which one (maybe 6.something) and after I updated the PC to Win 11 I've updated Oracle Virtual Box to 7.1.6 and Guest Additions 7.1.6 in the Win10 VM too.
I've tried to run the VM on my notebook and it is the same thing, freezes randomly.
When it freezes I try to shutdown by "sending the shutdown signal", sometimes it works, some I have to send the shutdown signal a bunch of times and some don't, I have to just close de VM.

I've checked for Win10 updates in the VM, it's up to date. Didn't change a thing on the VM. Don't know what to do, can someone help me?

The logs were saved after a random freeze and a shutdown by sending the shutdown signal (it worked, unfreezed it and shut it off).

Thanks in advance for any help.
