I'm running VIrtualBox on a Win11 host, with TIny11, a stripped down Win11, as the guest. I'm trying to establish a shared folder as such:
Machine Folders
Folder Path: Z:\
Folder Name: Z_DRIVE
Mount Point:
with both Auto-Mount and Make-Permanent checkboxes checked.
where Z:\ is an NTFS local disk on the host. However, once defining the shared folder and rebooting the guest, the shared folder is not mounted in File Explorer nor diskmgmt.
Thanks in advance.
newbie questions regarding Shared Folders
Re: newbie questions regarding Shared Folders
No one knows what the Tiny11 folks have removed from Windows. Does the same issue happen with regular Windows 11 (which likely needs only marginally more space after installing updates and the like)? Are Guest Additions working in general (can you resize the VM window and the guest resolution is adjusted automatically)?
Re: newbie questions regarding Shared Folders
Win11 iso fails to boot. The only VM parameters changed from default during machine creation are base memory of 2048MB and the creation of a 20GB vdisk (with full space allocated).
The .iso file will mount successfully from File Explorer in the (Win11) host, but the Win11 guest fails to boot as follows:
The iso is Win11_24H2_English_x64.iso downloaded from the Microsoft website.
