Sorry, I didn't notice this post back in August.

AFAIK that is not true. The version knocking around is trialware/nagware, which you activate with a key once you are licensed. Definitely never free.

Not here you can't. Please note that "Abandonware" has no meaning in law. Copyright is the law, and that right persists for decades after the death of the author, certainly longer than the usefulness of this driver. You might be willing to take the risk of the author climbing out the woodwork to sue you, but I suspect Oracle's lawyers will not be so relaxed about it.

It also seems that, though the first part of the install will work with hardware virtualization, at least on my Turion, a 95/98 guest will freeze on first boot at the logo.sys splash. Disabling hardware virtualization dramatically increases the time it takes to install, but offers better compatibility. If you're having trouble with the first boot, turn off hardware virtualization and PAE.

Your advice makes very limited sense... hardware virtualization can't be disabled for quite a long time. What do you mean exactly? Some people mix up settings really badly, getting problems instead of solving them.

Hello,
I would like to focus on this part of this article Tutorial: Windows 95/98 guest OSes.

7. Clipboard Host<=>Guest
(contributed by stefan.becker)

Clipboard integrated in VirtualBox only works with the Guest Additions, so not for Windows9x. But there is another solution: Clipboard over TCP/IP.

A Solution tested successfull with Linux Host is ShareClip: http://homepage.mac.com/bnej/shareclip/
Edit: Dead link. This might refer to the same software. https://shareclip.me/

Thanks

We need a petition to get Win98 fully supported.

Am I right in thinking I'm not the only one who wants this?

Hello,
I fully agree with ripjacker.
We need to create a petition to get support of Win 95/98/ME. I totally agree.
My knowledge is limited so I can't do that, but is there anybody else who are willing to do so (create a petition)???
Thanks
And thanks for the idea of petition ripjacker.
Have a great day everybody. :D :) 8)

Is there a way to copy and paste files between host (Windows 11 Pro 24H2) and guest (Windows Millennium) with Virtualbox 7.1.6 without shared folder or ISO creating???
Anything classical copy and paste??? If anybody may help out I would be grateful.

Hi and thanks to you for bringing this to my attention.
Could you please elaborate on BiDirectional: Use FileZilla FTP Client to connect to FileZilla FTP Server on the Host
Can you please enlighten me how to install and setup FileZilla inside Guest and how to interconnect it with Host FileZilla installation???

PS!!! Please note that I have successfully installed FileZilla to WIndows 11 Pro 24H2, but facing a lack of knowledge how to get it up and running???

Thanks

On the guest you'll have to use an old version of FileZilla -
http://www.mediafire.com/file/jbpcpomwy ... p.exe/file
it's pretty self explanatory but you'll need to install Kernel Ex first -
http://sourceforge.net/projects/kernelex/

The host can use the current version of FileZilla Server, it can be a bit confusing to set up so refer to their documentation.

One thing to note - Known Bugs / Limitations -
FileZilla (3.7.4.1, Feb 2014) - drag & drop doesn't work when sending files/folders, you must right-click them

Dear Kurt_Aust,
Thanks for explaining it to me in such details.
However there are other issues.
Installing KernelEx4.5.2 requires Microsoft Layer For Unicode downloaded and installed which requires internet working inside Windows ME area.
I do not have internet inside Windows ME??? How to fix it please???

Best way is to create a VirtualBox 'viso' image or use a HFS Server.
