The documentation of 7.1 for macOS/ARM states quite clearly that Linux (and to some extent BSD) works. No one said that Windows 11 can be booted (there is no guest OS type for it, which is another strong hint).

what is the alternative for this issue. I am using M4 and trying to use VMBox with window 10. it is getting stuck in shell mode.

I have disabled EFI and still same.

An unsupported 'alternative' could be trying to run Windows 10 for x86/x64 with CPU emulation, which is possible but rather slow. Search the forums for 'enablex86onarm'...

Hi,

Is this issue resolved, if yes please also let me know, because I am also struggling since one week on the same issue.

Thanks,
Shahin.

As decribed above, the extent of official VM support in VirtualBox is described in the User Manual provided with each Vversion released by Oracle. Currently for macOS Arm, that is imited so the relatively small selection of Linux/BSD distributions which provide compatible ARM64/aarch64 installation media. Windows 11 for ARM is not currnetly possible in VirtualBox.

As @Klaus (Oracle's Development Team) mentioned in his post(s), there is an unsupported method of installing/running some x86 operating systems in x86 emulation mode, but IME performance is an increasing issue (problem) with anything newer than XP (32-bit) and becomes unusable for currently supported Winows x64 versions (Windows 10/11).

What specific "issue" are you referring to?

Personally, I decided to use an alternative application for the virtualisation of Windows 11 for ARM, pending VirtualBox being able to provide that capability.
