I have searched, probably poorly, for a solution.
I have Windows 11 and installed Virtual Box 7.1.0 along with the extension pack for it. The program loaded right up.
I was trying to follow a tutorial on how to install a side program and wasn't totally understanding what was going on. they were talking about how to change the setting to half the speed... I couldn't find the settings and ended up click on the three bullet points next to the "Tools" tab. While I was in there, I don't remember what thing I clicked on, it might have been cloud or something else but the gui disappeared and I just thought it was loading something else up. Since that happened, when opening virtual box I only see the program in Task Manager.
Deleting VB and reloading doesn't help
Running as administrator doesn't help
I did the clearing out of the .VirtualBox file except for those two files, also didn't help.
It won't run in Safe Mode so I can't get a log for you all to view.
What am I doing wrong here?
GUI not showing on opening virtualbox
Re: GUI not showing on opening virtualbox
In the strict sense you did nothing wrong. I assume you accidentally opened the Activity tool with no VM present, and that triggers a bug. Workaround is described in viewtopic.php?t=112324
