Unable to Add TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth Adapter to Ubuntu Virtual Machine

Post by abddddddd »

Hello All,

I have connected the TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth 5.0 Nano USB Adapter to my Windows laptop via USB. I want my virtual machine, which is running Ubuntu Desktop 24.04, to use the UB500 Bluetooth 5.0 Nano USB Adapter. However, when I try to add the Bluetooth device through the Virtual Machine's USB settings, I do not see the device listed at all.

What I've Done So Far:

Connected the Adapter to Windows

Plugged the TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth 5.0 Nano USB Adapter into a USB port on my Windows laptop.
Confirmed that the adapter is recognized and functioning properly on the Windows host.
Set Up the Virtual Machine:

Running Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 as a virtual machine.
Using Virtual Box 7.0.18 .
Tried Adding the USB Device to the VM:

Opened the Virtual Machine settings.
Navigated to the USB settings.
Tried to add the TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth 5.0 Nano USB Adapter to the list of USB devices.
Unfortunately, the TP-Link adapter does not appear in the list of available USB devices.

Please kindly advise.
