Hi all, I'm quite new to virtualisation and using VM's. But I had an old PC and wanted to try homeassistant.
I followed the installation guide and everything works fine except for the network.
When I boot the VM it boots fine but during the startup process it tries to connect to internet and i lose connection to my host. It then automatically closes the VM (dont know why) and im able to log back in.
My situation is:
Host: Small HP pc thats sitting in my server rack.
- Its running an hyper-v linux LTS server for my minecraft server. That works fine and had internet. It uses the equivalent of bridged network using a virtual hyper-v switch.
- Its running Virtualbox for HomeAssistant. Its in bridged network mode. I installed the network driver and chose that adapter.
I log into the host using my Macbook or windows desktop using rdp.
What am I doing wrong?
