Windows 11 host, Win-10 Guest stops responding due to sleep/timeout?

Post by Smoel »

Hi All,

I have a Windows 11 host PC running Virtualbox 7.0.14.
On this machine I have a Windows 10 Guest PC that seems to freeze. I noticed that the VirtualBoxmachine/Guests stops responding when the Win11 host has not had any activity. Note that I have the energy settings in 'Best Performance mode", displays, HDD's, etc. are not put into sleep.
Besides the Windows Guest I also have a Home Assistant guest that serves VPN. This system also stops/freezes responding after a certain time-out. The PC is never put into sleep-mode, just Idle/no mouse/keyboard activity.
I haven't seen this behavior in Windows host with similar Guests, any ideas where to look for?

Note2: These systems/hosts are booted at start of the Windows 11 host using task-scheduler and running in --headless mode.
