Windows 11 failed to boot
I have attached my ISO several times to the virtual machine but it continues to try and boot but keeps coming back asking me to attach an iso even after one has been attached.

Re: Windows 11 failed to boot
What makes you believe it's a bootable ISO? The error indicates that it isn't.

Re: Windows 11 failed to boot
A possibility exists that the ISO is bootable (the "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" message comes from the ISO's boot loader) but Adam did not press a key to boot from CD or DVD within the 5 second time limit while the dots stacked up.

Re: Windows 11 failed to boot
Pressing a key makes it give me the error and it's an iso from windows sooo pretty sure its bootable. Forgot to mention it worked once as well this is a 2nd time installing it to mess around in a windows vm for a class and I needed a fresh install.

Re: Windows 11 failed to boot
Have you installed an OS in this VM before? Getting an EFI VM to boot from an ISO is tricky if the VM already has an OS in it.
If so, try making a new VM instead of installing again in an old VM.
FWIW, when the EFI VM is booting, tapping the ESC key early enough should put it into the EFI Boot Manager, where the VM's CD-ROM drive can be selected as the boot source.

Re: Windows 11 failed to boot
There are lots of ISO's that can be downloaded from Microsoft. Not all will be bootable. It depends on the purpose of the download.
Long story short: if VirtualBox couldn't boot from an ISO then none of us would have working VMs. This is possibly THE most stable, reliable and well tested feature that VirtualBox has. Hence look around for dumb mistakes.

I got the same issue. You must use the "Unattended Installation", and it does not work. Check "Skip Unattended Installation" when you create your VM.
