TPM or some other config not working on version 7.0.14, part 2

Post by MarkFoley »

After successfully getting my Windows VM guest to boot on my previous post, I am moving on to a 2nd computer. This is hosted on Linux which now boots UEFI (confirmed). On the VirtualBox Manager, in Settings > System, I've enabled "TPM V2.0" and "Enable EFI (special OSes only)".

When I start the VM I get errors:

Code: Select all

BdsDxe: failed to load Boot001 "UEFI VBOX CD-ROM VB1-1a2b3c4d " from PciBoot (0x0)/Pci (0xD, 0x0) /Sata (0x1,0xFFFF,0x0) Not Found
BdsDxe: failed to load Boot002 "UEFI VBOX HARDDISK VB414d6f67-39ddec9b " from PciBoot (0x0)/Pci (0xD,0x0)/Sata(0x0,0xFFF,0x0) : Not Found
BdsDxe: No bootable option or device ws found.
BdsDxe: Press any key to endre the Boot Manager Menu.
Additionally, I get a dialog per the attached image. I've also attached the VBox.log.

Note that this is NOT a new attempt to install a Windows VM. This VM has been running for quite a while. I've just now updated the Linux host for UEFI. The Windows VM has been running with a CSM/MBR Linux host all this time and I am trying to now get the Windows VM to boot UEFI. If I turn off the TPM and UEFI settings for the VM it boots per usual.

How do I get the Windows VM to boot UEFI?

The way you describe things sound as if you're having a misconception:

Depending on its configuration, a VirtualBox VM starts with the VirtualBox legacy BIOS or the VirtualBox UEFI BIOS. It doesn't matter what type of BIOS your host is using. In consequence, your VM has been running on legacy BIOS with MBR so far (*), and there's no need to change that.

(*) VirtualBox only supports the combinations "legacy BIOS + MBR" and "UEFI BIOS + GPT".

Have you resolved it? I also want to know why TPM or some other config not working on version 7.0.14. I am tired of resolving it but I can't resolve it and because of this, I am getting so frustrated. Do you need help in choosing the best site for casino gambling? then I can help you in this case. I am a casino gambler and I have been into it for 3 to 4 years but a few days back, I found this website called https://casinosanalyzer.ca/free-spins-no-deposit/new casinosanalyzer, and thought to share it with you all. The best thing I like about it that is reviews other casino websites and gives a genuine review. I used a site along before and it mentioned it there. the reviews were also not good, after that I trusted this app, and I also switched my casino site, to their recommendation, you can visit them, if you are new or a professional, to know about the best casino sites.
