USB stick works fine, but iPad as USB does not show up in VM MacOS despite being captured by VirtualBox

So I am running MacOS Monterey as a guest VM on MacOS host.
When I plug any USB stick, it works perfectly and shows up on my VM.

PROBLEM:
When I plug in my iPad as USB into my Mac, it gets captured by VirtualBox and is not shown on my host system as it should. However, this iPad does not show on my guest VM MacOS Monterey.

WHAT I HAVE DONE:
I have tried enabling both USB 2 and USB 3 in the preferences of my VM, did not work.
I have the VirtualBox extension pack installed, changed nothing.
I have created a filter for the iPad (it gets recognized by VirtualBox, but not the guest VM).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
