Windows 7 (guest) - problem with guest additions - 7.0.12

Hi,

I had multiple problems installing the guest additions. I managed to work around it but I believe it may need some official fixes.

I tried to install guest additions by double-clicking the mounted cd. It returned an error that the digital signature is not valid.
So I opened the CD instead and installed the x86 version - this worked but turned out the installation is not complete.
So, to fix the problem I had to:
1. Enable test signatures: bcdedit /set testsigning on
2. Reboot
3. tried to install now (by double clicking the CD icon), the installation started correctly but in the middle it complained about not being able to write cert files
4. instead of clicking the CD I right click-> open, and then run the main file as an admin
5. now it completed ok

Researching this took some time and is not clearly written on the forum, at least I couldn't find, hopefully this info could help others

Yes, it is a known problem. The 7.0 test build Guest Additions is supposed to fix this. It has been discussed and fleshed out here: viewtopic.php?t=110346

7.0.14 is also supposed to have the fix when released.
