Greetings.
I have a problem with the operation of the HOST CD/DVD drive in the machine created by VirtualBox.
Some time ago I created a virtual machine with Windows XP Pro Sp3 using VirtualBox.
The HOST has the Windows 10 Home Operating System with all current updates.
When I created the machine everything went well and even the HOST CD/DVD player was recognized and was working perfectly.
Now, after some time, I realized that the CD/DVD player in the virtual machine does not work and even if I insert a CD or DVD, virtualized Windows XP does not recognize it and asks me to insert the CD and ejects the inserted one.
Unfortunately, some time has passed since I no longer used the virtualized machine and, having constantly updated the versions of both the HOST operating system and VirtualBox, I am not able to know at what point during the updates the player stopped working and if it could be the fault of the HOST or VirtualBox.
The Storage Settings of the virtualized machine are:
- HOST 'E' reader:
- Primary IDE Device 1
- HOST Reader Type
- Connected to Windows XP Pro
- Size: --
- Position: --
VirtualBox Version 7.0.12
Extension Pack Version 7.0.12
Active Guest Additions.
Virtualized Windows XP Pro Sp3 unchanged since first load.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions regarding my problem.

Re: Problem with CD/DVD in Virtual Machine
If I understand correctly, your XP VM no longer sees the CD inside the host CD drive when the VM's CD drive is pointed at the host CD drive.
What happens if you load an ISO image of a CD in the VM's CD drive?
PS I deleted your duplicate posts on this subject.
