Black screen Windows 2003 server.
Black screen Windows 2003 server.
I normally use Vbox 7.0.6 (win10/11 host, win2003 server quest). However, when trying to update to 7.08, 7.0.10 or 7.0.12, after installing the drivers in the guest, the vm simply stops on a black screen. Only works with additional drivers from 7.0.6. Apparently it hasn't been fixed yet.

Please provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

I have already reinstalled version 7.06. I had saved a log. I'm sending.

Re: Black screen Windows 2003 server.
Looks like you have hardening problems.
It may be related, but you also have superfluous third party antivirus installed (AVG). Try uninstalling it. Note that Windows 10 is not Win95 - it needs no help from third parties in order to implement security, in fact using third parties creates a security problem.

Re: Black screen Windows 2003 server.
I don't believe this is the problem. The same vm works in version 7.0.6, despite the occurrence, without error.

Re: Black screen Windows 2003 server.
Both logs did not show the normal shutdown of the VM. And the last lines recorded were the hardening problems. Did the VM remain running after the logs were taken? The first log was only 2-ish minutes long. The second log lasted 14 minutes. Did the VM stay operational after the log was taken?
The 7.0.6 Virtualbox and Guest Additions are installed, and the GAs services are started.
Regarding the Guest Additions versions, 7.0.8 had issues for XP, 2003's close cousin. 7.0.1 was supposed to fix the XP GAs problem. 7.0.12 is having licensing issues for Windows 7 and possibly 8.
You can probably stay on 7.0.6 GAs for your VM as long as the features still work. Or you can try 7.0.10 again and post a log if the VM shows blackscreen again or has other issues.
