I have tried guest machines with 2204 to 23.0 on my linux host 23.04 and all run normally for between 3-23 minutes then completely freeze and have to be shutdown forecibly. I have changed many setting including memory numbers of CPU's virtualization method etc.. with no success. I have reinstalled Linux on the guest a number of times but this has not helped. I attach the log here. Any help appreciated

I would try installing Guest Additions from the current millenium. Currently you have 3D acceleration enabled, but the only GAs are the 6.0.0 crapola installed by the distro. Not a good combo.
I would also reduce the CPU allocation to 2 cores. Presently you assign all four host cores to guest code. Perhaps you don't realize that VirtualBox is host code, not guest code.

None of these measures helped. Created a new virtual machine with 23.04, which is stable. Must be an issue with my older install
Re: Ubuntu 23.04 guest freezes on Ubuntu 23.04
I've been running a 23.04 guest under VB for some time now and today 23.04 server VM just froze completely and had to be powered down (never happened before). Started having problems after the last round of Ubuntu updates late last week, may just blow this VM away and deploy a 23.10 VM in its place. Removing/reinstalling the guest additions seems to have helped, time will tell. I'm running a VBOX 7.0.11 test build with the 7.0.11 guest additions.
