How important anti-virus in XP VM?

Post by JimCoster »

I do not use IE in my xp vm, though Quickbooks does log on for upgrades and emailing forms. I hate to waste any resources. Do I even need anti-virus. Doing a search here I have seen AVG mentioned. Any other minimalist programs out there

Thanks

I use ClamWin on my Windows machines and in my Windows VM here on my Mac Vbox.

Hope that helps.

I run Avast. It's free, easy to install, and pretty light on the system. OK, its not the best in the world, but it is significantly safer than no virus protection. That Windows world is very infectious!

I used Avast on my wife's old XP it did seem pretty non-intrusive. I'll take a look at Clamwin.

Thanks
