Hello everyone. I'm pretty new at using VM's and after about 2 months of regular use my kali VM went kaput.
The issue starts at boot, Where it will go throught it normally, first showing the oracle screen, then the kali boot options, a couple of black screens and then the kali dragon boot animation.
After that, the window tries to rezise itself about 4 or 5 times, and then stops. From there its just still in a black screen with the cursor flashing rapidly. No user imput does anything.
I've tried a few things, changing settings, enabling 3D accel, fiddiling with the virtual disks, installing the guest partition CD (although i was unsuccessful), and others, to no avail. Im wondering if at this point I should simply reinstall Oracle, kali or both, although i would hate to loose the data on the machine, or have it happen randomly again.
The logs repeat this message a few times:
00:00:38.670862 GUI: UIMediumEnumerator: Medium-enumeration finished!
00:00:39.474609 Display::i_handleDisplayResize: uScreenId=0 pvVRAM=0000000000000000 w=1900 h=977 bpp=0 cbLine=0x0 flags=0x2 origin=0,0
00:00:39.478009 Display::i_handleDisplayResize: uScreenId=0 pvVRAM=000001ec80000000 w=800 h=600 bpp=32 cbLine=0xC80 flags=0x1 origin=0,0
00:00:39.493037 GUI: UIMachineLogic: Guest-screen count changed
00:00:39.795309 GUI: UIMachineView::sltPerformGuestResize: Omitting to send size-hint 800x600 to guest-screen 0 because frame-buffer is already of the same size.
00:00:39.797095 GUI: UIMediumEnumerator: Medium-enumeration finished!
Im not exactly sure what is causing the issue. The log says screen count changed, though i have only one screen. Everything is updated, and it started randomly one day, seemingly out of nowhere.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Kali VM Window rezising at boot
Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. In the "Logs" subfolder, zip the VM's "vbox.log", and post the zip file, using the forum's Attachments tab. (Configure your host OS to show all extensions so you can find the "vbox.log", not "vbox.log.1", etc.)

Re: Kali VM Window rezising at boot
Thanks for the quick reply. Adding the log now.
There's two in there, I forgot to turn off the system on the first one. I cant turn it off in the OS because I cant do anything.

Couple gifs showing the start of the problem.
Thanks again!
