Getting MX510 Mice extra buttons to work in Firefox 3.0

Post by SirVival »

Hi,
host is WXP Pro SP3 with VB 2.1 installed.
Linux is Ubuntu 8.04 with Guest Additions 2.0.6 installed (2.1 GA gives me dead keys since I am using a german keyboard).

I made an edit to xorg like shown here:

http://locoteam.ubuntuforums.org/showth ... p?t=485175

I also made an edit to firefox like shown here:

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Mou ... nd+Forward

Siill the back an forth button do not work.

The two scrollbuttons work perfekt.

Any ideas?

Thanks

VB only passes a simple 3 button mouse to the VM. I have the same mouse, doesn't work in either Linux or Windows Guests, unless I enable USB and put my mouse in the VM. But doing that will cause my Host to be mouse-less and that kinda sucks in a GUI ;).

That's the third button, the scroll wheel ;). Though the scroll functions are actually button 4 and 5.
