Thanks for keeping VirtualBox moving ahead!
Regret to inform that there's still some graphics problems with this release. Using an HP ZBook Power 15.6 Inch G9 Mobile Workstation PC. Display adapters are Intel Irix Xe Graphics and NVIDIA RTX A2000 8GB Laptop GPU. Running Windows 11 2022H2 Build 22621.1555)
I'm working with Win 10 and Win 7 VMs. They exhibit similar behavior. Anywhere from a few seconds to several hours after boot, the screen will freeze. It's apparent that the OS is still operating as applications will continue to run "beneath" the display freeze, VPNs will stay connected, etc. If I toggle between windowed and full screen mode (CTRL+F) then the VM will typically recover. It will redraw the entire guest surface and continue working just file for a few seconds to a few hours. Another CTRL+F will wake it up again. On occasion, this doesn't help it recover and the VM session has to be killed.
Take care,
JamieTee

Upgrading from 7.0.97 r156683 to 7.0.97 r156982 solved the problem.
All is well what ends well.
Where to get 7.0.97 r156982 ?.

Hi,
Strange thing happened after upgrading VB...
Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64-bit host, running Linux Mint 21.0 xfce 64-bit guest.
After upgrading to 7.0.8 (from 7.0.6) when I boot the Linux guest and the desktop comes up, it appears that the xfce desktop is somehow gone and it appears to have dropped back to the Ubuntu-type desktop (see attached pics)
No changes made to the guest, only the install of VirtualBox 7.0.8 over 7.0.6...
Linux Mint 21.0 xfce under VB 7.0.6... Linux Mint 21.0 xfce under VB 7.0.8...

Re: Discuss the VirtualBox 7.0.8 release here
I have VirtualBox installed on Windows 10, I intend to go back to using Linux distros and for that I have been trying to install some distros in VirtualBox, but in all attempts I get the following error that I show below;
Can you help solve?
Code: Select all
NtCreateFile(\Device\VBoxDrvStub) failed: 0xc0000034 STATUS OBJECT NAME NOT FOUND (0 retries) (rc=-101)
Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully.
where: supR3HardenedWinReSpawn what: 3 VERR OPEN FAILED (-101) - File/Device open failed. Driver is probably stuck stopping/starting. Try 'sc.exe query vboxsup to get more information about its state. Relpooting may actually help.
