Let File Manager path can be edit

Post by qux »

File Manager path can not edit directly now. It's like:
---
File Manager
...
Host File System: \ > D: > tmp | Guest File System: \> C: > Users > hello
---

The \ > D: > tmp and \> C: > Users > hello can not be edit directly. If they can edit directly, soemtimes copy a path to there is a fast way to change path.

If I understand correctly, you're referring to the Virtualbox File Manager, found in the VM window's Machine menu. The "Host System" and "Guest System" path boxes cannot be typed or pasted into. One has to browse to the desired folder in the GUI file tree.

This sounds like a rather good enhancement.

Please post the idea as an Enhancement on the Bugtracker.

This feature is now integrated into our 7.0 release branch and will be available with the next release. By double clicking on the address bar one can edit its content. Only by pressing return the edited text is accepted. Clicking away is considered cancel for the edit operation. And entering a non-existing path does not cause any changes in the current path. Enjoy/complain as necessary.
