NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) while creating vm in the external drive.

Post by a7x123 »

I want to install a vm in the external drive.
I create vm in the external file. After that to install .iso file I clicked on the start. After setting up everthing ram, storage etc. to install .iso file when I click add button. It gives the following error.

I looked on the internet for the solution. The solution was that right click and select discard saved state. But it is unselectable in my mac.

Do you know what is the solution for that?

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Win 10.

The VM session was aborted.
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: SessionMachine
Interface: ISession {c0447716-ff5a-4795-b57a-ecd5fffa18a4}
This log file.
No log files found. Press the Refresh button to rescan the log folder /Volumes/TRANSCEND/Win 10/Logs.

What is the host PC? Exact make and model please.

Please provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

The software did create a log file in the above location. If you can't provide a log file then we probably can't help.

In your VM settings try adding the .iso file to your virtual CD/DVD before starting the VM. This is a known problem. Let us know how you get on.
