VirtualBox Guest Additions Certificate Issue (WindowsVistaUltimatex64)
I've tried dwelling deep into the issue to get a clue over what is exactly going on, through the forms I've come across some similar issues but they didn't seem to give exact solutions on how to resolve this issue.
That issue revolves around a certification problem when installing VBGA for the Windows Vista Ultimate system.
I don't know how to properly install or reorder the certificate to Vistas liking.

You'll need SHA-2 support for Windows Vista.

How do I do that? Do I just simply download it like an exe file? Or do I need to reset the whole VM?

Windows 7 has a Microsoft update that gives 7 SHA2 support. Maybe one exists for Vista?

Do I just find these updates on the Windows Website?

I'm not familiar with "the Windows Website". I would just Google for "vista SHA2 support" or similar.

Re: VirtualBox Guest Additions Certificate Issue (WindowsVistaUltimatex64)
Alright just ran to a very big issue, "Windows Vista no longer supports SHA-2 and the latest ESET products do not work on this operating system. We do not recommend using a version of the Windows operating system that Microsoft no longer supports. Security patches are not provided, and we cannot guarantee full protection." Is there any back alley to this?

Re: VirtualBox Guest Additions Certificate Issue (WindowsVistaUltimatex64)
Please keep in mind you're asking about the OS, not the VM's hardware. Getting Vista to install SHA2-dependent software is not something the Virtualbox forum supports. We can help you get Guest Additions installed, but we cannot help Microsoft and you get Vista capable of SHA2, or of installing ESET.
Please ask on Microsoft forums how to get Vista to be SHA2-capable, then come on back for Guest Additions help. ESET is of course supported on their help channels.

Re: VirtualBox Guest Additions Certificate Issue (WindowsVistaUltimatex64)
No problem. Without SHA2 support in Vista, you won't get Virtualbox Guest Additions to install in Vista. See if you can clear that up with Microsoft, then GAs will probably install.

Can I just call them or do I just look it up through MS forums

You're asking the wrong people how to solve this. Ask Microsoft. Then come back if/when SHA2 is enabled on Vista.

Re: VirtualBox Guest Additions Certificate Issue (WindowsVistaUltimatex64)
In the brief searching I did (to confirm that my Google search suggested above would return results), I noticed that Microsoft had deleted their original KB page. However I have no doubt that the patch will be available elsewhere.
And yes, Vista is an unsupported OS almost everywhere, so it isn't surprising that you encounter comments to that effect.

Re: VirtualBox Guest Additions Certificate Issue (WindowsVistaUltimatex64)
I found one website claiming that the Windows Server 2008 SP2 updates would work on Windows Vista, see Adding SHA-2 Support to Vista SP2 After August 3, 2020 (at your own risk, no guarantee).
