Well done, thanks for reporting back. Hopefully you did something to ensure that those bad sectors are marked as bad.

I already did, in a previous post. If you suspect bad sectors then you need to run a thorough sector scan with chkdsk, not just a filesystem consistency check. The latter will find nothing. A bad sector scan will cause those sectors to be tagged, stopping Windows from using them again in future.
