Persistent System Crash Remains....

Post by Grey Dog »

Hi All,

MacOS 10.14.5 (Mojave)
VirtualBox 6.0.8

Been having intermittent issues with booting up VMs. After about 5 seconds, the entire system freezes and then goes down for a hard boot with a quick flurry of fan activity.

Fixes already applied from other threads:
- the apple firmware update as issued about 2-3 weeks ago
- the "spctl kext-consent add VB5E2TV963" in Recovery Mode
- checked the macos coredump for conflicting com.intel.kext.intelhaxm and com.Logitech.Control Center.HID Drivers. --> Neither present

Attaching my coredump and "kextstat | grep -v com.apple" ......Scratch that: I'm being told that my zipped file is too big for the maximum 256K. Really?? Wow....

Just at a total loss. Prior to the firmware fix, it was happening every other VM boot. Now it's more like every fourth or thereabouts....

Any advice appreciated,

- gerlach

The list of third party kernel extensions appears to include the Radio Silence firewall and Palo Alto Network's Global Protect. I would try disabling / uninstalling both of these (temporarily) and see if the situation improves.

My crystal ball is currently broken. If you want assistance you are going to have to give me all of the necessary information.
Please don't ask me to do your homework for you, I have more than enough of my own things to do.
