Wireless adapter help.

Hello all.

I am really hoping that someone could help me.

I recently purchased a USB wireless network adapter, to be specific it is the alfa AWUS036ACM and i am having real trouble getting it to work, i have managed to get it to be recognised by the guest but it doesn't work at all. i did get it to work once during the last 36 hours of trying but for some reason after a reboot i can not replicate it to get it working again.


I am running VirtualBox on an asus rog zephyrus gl501, windows 10 is the host system. the guest is Kali 2019.2.

Like i stated i have got the VM to capture the wireless card but doesn't work, i get the ping to say that the usb drive is loaded but straight away i also get the sound to say it is disconnected, i have been assuming it is the host loading and unloading it to give it over to the VM.


I am at a total loss now, i don't usually ask for help, but, rather search for solutions, unfortunately i cannot find any suggested solutions to this problem.


I will uplad some images tomorrow when i hve been a member for a day haha.


In the meanwhile if anyone has any suggestions that would be great
