[Solved] USB chip card reader "Reiner SCT RFID standard" stops working with 5.2.28

Using VirtualBox since years the operation of my USB card reader "Reiner SCT RFID standard" stopped working after upgrading to VB 5.2.28. Upgrading to 5.2.30 or 6.0.6 did not help. Downgrading to 5.2.26 solved the problem, but now I'm stuck at this release.

My recent configuration:
Host Ubuntu 18.04 (latest updates installed)
Virtual Box 5.2.26 (current install after downgrade) Extension pack installed
Virtual Box 5.2.28, 5.2.30, 6.0.6 (all these releases don't cooperate with the card reader)
Guest Windows 7 professional 64 (Guest additions 5.2.26 installed)
Application Reiner SCT drivers 7.7.2 freshly installed following carefully the installation requirements.

The Vbox.log from using VBox release 5.2.30 shows the following lines (see uploaded complete log file for details):

All the "unrecoverable errors" are not present in the 5.2.26 log.

The German Forum shows a lot of similar problems with the Reiner SCT card readers.
Please let me know how to proceed.

Did you deliberately obfuscate certain fields in this log?

Also, although the extension pack is installed, I'm only seeing OHCI (USB 1.1) support enabled in the VM. USB 2 would be appropriate for XP. If the device and the host port is USB3 (unlikely for just an RFID reader) then you would have problems with XP.

Please download the latest 6.0.x test builds and try them, they contain several USB fixes.

And please don't post chunks of the log, ZIP and post the whole log from a complete startup/observe problem/shutdown session.

I replaced two fields in my mount paths since they reveal private details.
As I already said, everything worked (and works) fine up to release 5.2.26. So the OHCI support setting was not modified. Maybe it's not optimal, but is this really the cause?

The chunk from the log was only cited to point to an obvious error. It's just a few lines from the full log, which is attached.
Installing newer versions or test builds of VB always corrupts my guest functionality which I really need daily. I already spent hours trying to get things fixed (without success). I also contacted the Card Reader manufacturer support about this issue. And I had a USB problem with VB already in 2009 (see this forum). I would rather like Oracle to provide a flawless product.

I appreciate, nevertheless, that VB is provided to private users without costs. So my contribution to this service is to report my problems after careful investigation (as careful as possible to a non-developer).

How can we know unless you test it? OHCI is rarely used, so it's quite possible that something broke there without anyone noticing.

Any idea how I can install two versions of VirtualBox side by side on the same machine??? Otherwise I will have to go forward to make the test and if it fails backward to get back to a system which works for me.

VirtualBox does not allow side by side installs.

I would like to report this issue SOLVED for me with upgrading to VirtualBox 6.1.0. (I've consequently denied the offer to upgrade to any intermediate release.)
I was able to upgrade from my last working VB installation 5.2.26 without changing anything on my settings or VMs.
The feeling is that VB 6.1 is much faster than the former 5.2 releases. Thanks a lot to the developers!
