[WorksForMe] Shared Folders not mounting

Post by njoylif »

I've got a second hard drive I want to make available to guest and was working in 5.2.30/prev.
upgraded to 6.0.8 and host/guest from windows 7 to windows 10.
shared folder will no longer show up to guest; tried downgrading to 5.2.30 and going back to copy of guest prior to win10 upgrade.
now I can't get host drive to show up in any guest.

I've tried reloading extensions in every guest I've tested with.

latest is: win10 host, win10 guest. trying to share host e: drive.
virtualbox is back to 5.2.30.

log snippit...LMK if want whole thing.
00:10:01.370700 SharedFolders host service: Adding host mapping
00:10:01.370716 Host path 'E:\Downloads', map name 'Downloads', writable, automount=false, create_symlinks=false, missing=false

murphy's law. I've been getting my butt kicked for 2 days on this. as soon as I post and reboot, it shows up.
I'll upgrade to 6.0.8 and see if blows up or works...I'll report back.

upgrade to 6.0.8 still good. upgraded extensions. mounted to z: (last available). moved to where I wanted using "e:" and that worked.
don't know what hung me up for so long. oh well.
Thx

I've seen it myself on several occasions, mostly with a Win10 guest. A reboot of the guest solves it for me as well.
