I am using VirtualBox 2.0 on my Mac OS X Leopard. I want to install another copy of Leopard on the VM. On booting, I get an error that says to enable PAE guest mode.
How do I do it ??
Thanks.

Re: How to enable PAE Mode ?
I've been trying to enable PAE Mode using 2.2.0, and the PAE/NX Mode shows Disabled, but the box to enable is greyed out and not available for selection. Anyone know why?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: How to enable PAE Mode ?
I have VB 3.2.8, and I'm tying to enable PAE mode.
I followed the instructions on the other posts, but it doesn't seem to work
Thanks

Re: How to enable PAE Mode ?
It's now in System > Processor. Please, check the complete VM settings before complaining where to find something. Reading the manual is a must in this case, we have it for a reason .

Re: How to enable PAE Mode ?
The way I see it, miatthas wasn't complaining...
The error message that's thrown by VirtualBox (3.2. still states that you need to go to Settings>General>Advanced to resolve that error and that's where most people will check first. (just like I did) When something is a-miss then people turn to forums...
If I was in any way a coder I'd help-out, but I'm not so hopefully someone on the dev team can fix the error pop-up to show the correct path to remediate this error message.

Re: How to enable PAE Mode ?
That 'issue' is already addressed. Mattias stated that he followed the instructions here, but check the post date: 2008! That's a few dozen versions back. A lot has changed over time, so when you see in a post from a year or older that feature x is at location y, you need to be smart enough to know that it will probably not be there any more and you should check the official documentation for your version instead.

Re: How to enable PAE Mode ?
Ok... dude's last post with the screenshot was August 12, 2010 and I get the same popup saying "PAE support can be enabled using the VM settings (General/Advanced)." when I don't enable PAE (obviously)
I'm running 3.2.8 r64453 on a Windows host box so while it's not a nightly build or anything, it's still the latest stable release available as I d/l'd it today.
Yes, the error message can be made to go away by clicking the pretty buttons in the order the manual tells us to, but the pop-up error message is still providing the old way of doing things and that's confusing people. (which was my initial point)
I'm going back to my cone of seclusion...

If the dialogue is wrong, open a bug report for it in the Bugtracker (separate account needed). Only then will it get the attention of the devs and can be fixed.
