Invalid certificate of download.virtualbox.org

Post by dimitrios »

I cannot download the Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-6.0.6.vbox-extpack neither with Chrome nor with Firefox.

When I attempt to download the file with Wget, the below error is printed.

I cannot post the entire message, since I cannot yet use URLs.

Code: Select all

$ wget ...
--2019-04-27 21:57:06-- ...
Resolving ... (...)... ...
Connecting to ... (...)|...:443... connected.
ERROR: no certificate subject alternative name matches
        requested host name ‘...’.
To connect to ... insecurely, use `--no-check-certificate'.

You need to replace a part of the address, but unfortunately I am not allowed to type anything remotely resembling an internet address, or even the three letters by which they are normally referred to, so I can't tell you directly. Hopefully you can read a regex:
s/virtualbox/oracle/
s/org/com/

...like "Problems with downloading from https://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/", now a GLOBAL post, meaning you're going to see it on top of every discussion, in every area.

No more excuses... ;)
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
