Re: SSL error on site download pages

Post by Daniel.Glasser »

I can confirm this happens; if you proceed through the SSL errors, you end up with a broken page from the server that says "An unauthroized request" (https://download.virtualbox.org/virtual ... 49-Win.exe).

As of this reply, I have found no way to download.

Virtual box extension pack download error

Post by bennyloco »

When starting up Kali-Linux in Virtual box I always get a window that pops up which says "Implementation of the USB 2.0 controller not found! Because the USB 2.0 controller state is part of the saved VM state, the VM cannot be started. To fix this problem, either install the 'Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' or disable USB 2.0 support in the VM settings.
Note! This error could also mean that an incompatible version of the 'Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' is installed (VERR_NOT_FOUND)."

So I tried to download the extension pack but I just cannot access the download page.
can someone please help?

Re: Certificate verification failed when updating.

Nope. It's because the website certificates have been invalidated for some reason. No doubt the site admins will investigate.

Sounds like you need a better browser or download manager, i.e. one that tells you when it's getting SSL certificate errors.

"An unauthorized request" VirtualBox Download

Post by mtimofeev01 »

Hello!

I try to download VirtualBox 6.0.6 platform packages and VirtualBox 6.0.6 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack, yet every time I click on the link a "An unauthorized request"- window pops up. I created an account and tried using different browser, yet nothing helped.

Any suggestions?

i've had the same issue the past two days. seems like virtualbox dot org is about to go through re-branding and shift everything to oracle dot com. (i mention this because of the certificate miss matches when trying to download.) .

I've tried downloading while logged into the site as well. same issue.

At this URL: https://download.virtualbox.org/virtual ... 49-Win.exe

I get the attached response or I get a certificate error. I've tried multiple PCs and different browsers. What am I doing wrong?

Can't Download Virtualbox 6.0.6

Post by wgre0111 »

About an hour ago i posted a response to users having this same issue, but that post, and another has been removed?

(I had a window open to the other post, and when i hit refresh, it says the topic does not exist)
forums.virtualbox dot org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=92893

An unauthorized request.
is shown when clicking the download link for virtualbox on any platform. I've tried logging in tot he site as well. Seems to be related to some potential rebranding going on to use oracle dot com certs/etc instead of virtualbox dot org.

have not been able to download in the past 2 days i've tried. Thanks teeam

@ALL
Please search the forums a little bit before creating a new thread. Just a tad, not that difficult...
It's getting boring to keep on merging the same thread message over and over and over again.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Quick work-around until this is corrected: replace https://download.virtualbox.org with https://download.oracle.com (which is what the cert is for) it works correctly.

Works for both the VirtualBox 6.0 and Extension Pack downloads. Sorry I can't post the real links, because new account security I guess.

They're probably trying to move the downloads from the VirtualBox website to the Oracle website and somebody made a snafu.

Or they issued the wrong certificate? That (to me) sounds more plausible...

Lou, I made a snafu when I was editing the links. I put "download.oracle.ORG" instead of "download.oracle.COM"... :o

Fixed it now in the original post and your quoted text...
