[Resolved] VM BOX Crashed with Win 10 Admin Dialog Box
Hi,
Using Win 10 on a Macbook Pro running Mojave.
When trying to update some software on the VM when I 'run as administrator' and the yellow security dialog box pops up VMBox crashes. I've tried switched security alerts off but it crashes when I need to accept.
Any known issues?
Cheers

Re: VM BOX Crashed with Win 10 Admin Dialog Box
Just to get it right... You launch a program in a Win10 VM, and VirtualBox crashes??? That's bizarre to say the least...
We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
- Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
- With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
- Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.

Well...The Virtual Machine crashes, not the mac Virtual Box software.
See message and log below.

Re: VM BOX Crashed with Win 10 Admin Dialog Box
The log provided does not seem to be relevant. It only shows 4 minutes of runtime.
I would also attend to the warning (by ejecting the install DVD): "The image file '/Users/Damien/Desktop/Win10_1809Oct_English_x64.iso' is inaccessible and is being ignored. Please select a different image file for the virtual DVD drive."

Re: VM BOX Crashed with Win 10 Admin Dialog Box
I switched on the VM, it was only running for 4 mins until it crashed after trying to install the program update I'm trying to do. I'm not sure how longer logs would help if this is how long it takes for the issue to happen?
I can sort out the issue with the ISO separately.

Re: VM BOX Crashed with Win 10 Admin Dialog Box
Fixed the ISO issue, new logs (Log and Log1) attached. I can't give you anything more as these logs are me:
- Logging into Win10
- opening the downloads folder
- running .exe file as administrator
- the Win10 crash

? Both logs still show the install ISO mounted in the VM. Why is it needed? You have already installed the OS, correct?double_dd wrote:Fixed the ISO issue, new logs (Log and Log1) attached.
Re: VM BOX Crashed with Win 10 Admin Dialog Box
Yep - it's not needed. I will remove it.
is this the cause of the crash though?

Re: VM BOX Crashed with Win 10 Admin Dialog Box
Updating fixed the crashing issue thanks.
I just had to up the scale so the VM filled the screen on full screen mode.
Cheers
