No keyboard and mouse capture

Post by fb63 »

Hi,

I want to setup a macOS Mojave guest on my MacBook Pro 2018 (32GB RAM; 1TB SSD) urning Mojave.

I can not move the mouse into the guest.

What did I miss?

I use the UI to build a Mac OS X(64-bit) box.

The usual mistake is using a USB filter to assign ownership of the host mouse and keyboard to the VM. Makes it awfully hard to operate the host (VirtualBox is of course a host app).

In that case I'll leave you to the tender mercies of your fellow Apple users.

One note: it would help if you reduced the scale of your images before posting them.

OSX 10.14 (Mojave) is not yet supported in VirtualBox.

Are you telling me that you managed to install 10.14 as a guest? If so, please could you share the how-to?

USB3 in the guests should be irrelevant if the recipe is correct - the mouse and keyboard belong to the host.

No, I got some errors because the new disk use APSF.

Without USB3 I was unable to select the Installer language. I can not move the mouse.

Afraid not. It's an issue with OSX guests since 10.12.4. See Issue 1 in https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/16644
The recipe needs an update.

Ah, I see. I forgot that Apple does their own thing. I guess then that they have actually deleted the code to support older keyboard bus types. Every mod has a risk of introducing bugs, so I'm surprised they risked a mod to delete harmless code.
