windows xp guest crash (blue screen)

Post by huckym »

I am unable to boot my xp guest OS on VB 2.0.2 running on OSX host.
Background info - I migrated my VMs from XP host on a different machine to this new machine with OSX.

I had to post for help on this forum and messing a bit with the uuid in the vm config files manually i was able to get the ubuntu guest running perfectly fine on the new host but the xp guest crashes.

If I enable ACPI/IO APIC, it throws up a blue screen. If I have them disabled, VB reports fatal error and asks to be shutdown. Looking in the log file the relevant message seems to be -

Can someone please help?

...ya so its an attempt to "hot-swap" my vm between two different hardware/OS. Is that a wrong idea in the first place? Ubuntu works pretty good though. My Mac is the intel-based one just in case.
