Any progress on this? Are you satisfied that the VM is actually allocating the memory that you told it to? I don't like to have issues semi-resolved, and especially I don't like tickets been left in limbo...
So, can you give me a status update on your understanding of memory allocation?

I tried process explorer. You can't see this reduced memory in virtualbox.exe allocated memory at all (only 70 mb)
