Can't install Vista

Post by rendez2k »

I've tried to install Vista several times now, both from DVD and ISO and I always get "Windows could not assign a drive letter to partition on drive 0. The specified disk does not exist". I'm using 1.4.0 of VB.

I had the same problem and I was successful in doing the following thing: When you see the virtual drive (during the install of Windows Vista) just click on it and create a new partition. If you don't do anything with it won't work. If it is not working like this way, because you already tried to install Vista before, just restart the installation again. After that you get again to the part where you can select the partition you want Vista installed. First of all delete the existing partition and then create a new one. Make sure the partition is not unassigned! After all this the install process starts... Have fun! 8)
