My host computer's OS is Windows 10 Home Edition 64bit. My guest OS is Windows XP Pro 32bit. When I try to activate my Virtualbox XP I get a message saying that I don't have an internet connection. But I do, I'm using my VirtualBox XP to access this forum. And I did download the Guest Editions. My host computer has 8gb of memory. I don't know how much the guest OS has, but I got a popup that says they had to expand my memory on it.
Can anybody help?

I doubt that the Windows XP activation servers are still running. XP is no longer supported by Microsoft.

What did you expect to happen if you did activate it? If Microsoft does not care, what difference does it make? I cannot see any difference.

Why does Oracle VirtualBox still offer it as a guest OS option then?

Re: i can't activate my virtualbox version of Windows XP
Because a lot of people, including me, still want to run XP in a virtual machine. Users still run even older versions of Windows (95,98, and 2000 which are no longer supported by Microsoft or VirtualBox) as virtual machines. Unsupported does not mean that they will not work. Unsupported by Microsoft simply means that Microsoft no longer provides updates or fixes for them. Unsupported by VirtualBox means that no Guest Additions are available.

Thanks for the reply, BillG.

I'm having the same problem. I'm only using it to play some older games that I can't run in a newer Windows version. I don't care if it's activated or not as long as it keeps working past the 30 activation period.

@JoeyVinyl
There's nothing that we can do to help you with that. Only Microsoft can, so please talk to them.
