update ubuntu 17.04 to last version 17.10

I have the VB 5.2.0 r118431 with a VM Ubuntu 17.04.
I'd like to update to 17.10 version. How can I do it?

In fact, I'd like to know how to keep my Ubuntu updated.

How to upgrade Ubuntu.That sounds like an Ubuntu question. Why ask it on a VirtualBox forum?

Tks for your reply. I'm using VM on Windows 10 and I'm trying sudo apt-get update and upgrade and the Ubuntu doesnt update.
do u know how can I do it?
