Post by sathio »

Would it be so difficult for Oracle to serve updates via h t t p s instead of h t t p?

Have you searched for it? The question and answer comes up in the forums, at least once a month. Short answer: yes, it is difficult. You could compare the SHA256 or the MD5 sums if you're doubtful of the quality of the download. Those are served over HTTPS.

As for being new and not being able to post URLs, you'll thank the admins later on when you don't get spam messages... ;)

Now I'm really curious and I'll go searching why it is difficult.

regarding the forum if it catches everything that contains h t t p and thinks it's a U R L it may be helpful, but still sucks :D

thanks!

p.s.

You won't find the difficulty unless you ask their accountants. And before you jump in a quick conclusion, the "suits" have to justify every dollar spent. And "it has a good feeling about it" is not a valid reason... ;)
