Using a VPN on host, disconnects guest

Post by emmanuellelc »

While my host is disconnected from VPN (Nortel client), the guest can connect to internet without problems, but when the host is connected to the VPN the guest cant see internet.

Is there a way to keep the guest connected to the original network-internet-free while the host is connected to the VPN-internet-locked?

I have been looking in all the forums a possible solution but still I can't find one, i have also read the manual. My host is Windows XP, my guest Ubuntu 8.04 and 2.0.2 version of Virtual Box.

Thanks a lot.

If you're up to the 'challange', you can try Host Interface networking with a bridge. See the manual for how to set it up properly. Keep in mind that it won't work with wireless interfaces.
