It seems that VB 2.0 isn't quite capable of creating hard drives. You are the third I see since the release that has problems with it. The first I saw was with 9 GB drive, the other with a drive of 25 and a ticket is made that states problems with drives of 20-25 GB.

If you want to create a VDI of that size, please downgrade to 1.6.6 (or create it on a different machine, can even be done in a virtual one if you install VB, though it will not run a VM :P).

Creating new HD on virtualbox2.0

Post by zer0en »

Hallo,
I had diffucultys to create a second HD, Virtual box crashes, after reading in all (most) of the posts i created it on my C: and it workt. Then I put the new virtual HD in the partition of the host i wanted it to be, deleted the virtual disk in the diskmanager and then added the new virtual disk from his new place in the disk manager. The only problem I now have is that when I startup virtualbox2.0 (with WinXPpro) the second HD is not showing.
Anyone has an idee?

That makes sense, it's a raw disk. Go to Computer Management > Disk Manager and create a partition. If you use a dutch XP, it's called "Computer Beheer" and "Schijfbeheer".
