Problem with File system

Post by cytan299 »

Hi all,
I'm wondering whether anybody is seeing this:

I have fedora8 installed as guest in VBOX/2 built by Paul Smedley. After booting up fedora8, and it is running without doing anything, after an hour or so (or may be less), the file system suddenly becomes readonly.

I'm wondering whether anybody else has seen this? Is this a problem with our build or is this a JFS problem? I did a chkdsk /F and chkdsk /F:3 and chkdsk did not find any problem with my JFS partition.

Thanks for any input.

VBOX/2 and file system problem: It's Fedora 8

Post by cytan299 »

Hi,
I just installed Ubuntu 8 and there's no problem with the file system going to read only at all. Just to be sure, I ran it over the weekend and no file errors etc. My guess is that it's a Fedora8 problem. Is there any one out there running Fedora 8 under VBOX/2?

Try turning off SELinux in /etc/sysconfig/selinux
You will have to use a rescue disk to get a writable filesystem to make the change.

I have 64 bit Fedora9 on VBOX2 working OK (so far)
