VDE Support in OS X - Does it work?

Post by ph0nix »

Hi all,

Just built latest SVN trunk against VDE V.2.3.1 on OS X 10.9. When trying to start a VM using the 'generic" NIC type set to VDE and appropriate network=<vde-switch-name property, the following error is thrown:

Failed to attach the network LUN (VERR_PDM_DRIVER_NOT_FOUND).

Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component:
ConsoleWrap
Interface:
IConsole {d129b03e-037a-40b1-b288-a08ae73de535}

Any pointers? Or is using VDE drivers for Virtualbox on OS X not possible?

Thanks in advance

I think VDE is enabled only for Linux hosts in VirtualBox source code.
