4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
The latest release in this thread (build 95599) works for me so far. Been importing and starting up images perfectly.
Windows 7 x64 SP2, AVG anti-virus
Intel i7-4770K

Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
I tested with 3.15 (build 95599). After install I had to disable USB 2.0, because the extension package was not ok. In the past this always went ok.
I rebuild the VBoxAdditonalPackages (because new kernel for Ubunutu 12.04 LTS was release). After this install, the virtual box does not statup.

Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Tested 4.3.15-r95599 on Windows 8.1 with Intel HD Graphics 4400. This latest test release doesn't work with "3D Acceleration" enabled for a CentOS 7 VM, then I always get the below just when the VM is starting the GUI after boot:
This VM worked with the previous test release 4.3.15-r95286 on this laptop with 3D Acceleration enabled.Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Just to add confirmation. I'm running Win7 64 and Panda Internet Security. Same error. Tried fixes mentioned here and none worked. I'm going to roll back to 12.
Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Hi All!
The 5th test build: https://www.virtualbox.org/download/tes ... 63-Win.exe
Compared to the 4th:
* Fixed the -104 respawn errors (still) seen with several AV products.
* Fixed timing problem with the Avast workaround.
* Worked around symantec endpoint protection import table patching bug resulting in: "@!#$%&%!.dll is missing from your system"
* Attempt at curing the sysfrethunk.dll issue (unable to reproduce here).
Please remember to attach an VBoxStartup.log if you want help with your problem. For instance the that div/zero needs more data before I can say whether it has anything to do with the topic here or is a different bug/regression.
Enjoy,
bird.

At this point, is there a list of AVs that 4.3.15 is known to work with/tested against?bird wrote:* Fixed the -104 respawn errors (still) seen with several AV products.

Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
You guys know that the newer 4.3.15 test builds resolve lots of incompatibility problems with antivirus and dll injectors, right?
See the first post of this thread.
Mod edit: for those confused by this post, Jacob is referring to a sequence of posters talking about 4.3.14 who clearly had not read the first post of this thread, and hence which I have since deleted.

Confirming that 5th test build, VirtualBox v.4.3.15-95663 works on x64 Windows 7 Home Premium (with SP1+latest updates), AVG Free and AMD/ATI drivers.
Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
I can confirm that VirtualBox v.4.3.15-95663 works on Windows 7 64bits with NVIDIA drivers.

Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
I'm using a ThinkPad T440. VirtualBox 4.3.15 r95663 is not working for me. When I try to start up a Ubuntu 14.04 Server guest, this appears in the logs:
I'm using AVG Free, but have disabled it. This error is still occuring.
Not sure if it's significant, but there's a forward slash instead of a back-slash in the last log line I have pasted above.
Code: Select all
1dac.1784: supR3HardenedMonitor_LdrLoadDll: returns rcNt=0xc0000190 'C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VirtualBox.dll'

Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Still the same problem with 4.3.15-r95663 (but another exception location). I've uninstalled/installed and rebooted a couple of times but that doesn't help. Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Sorry, Oracle, I installed your 4.3.15 version as I was getting the same error with 4.3.14 as others have indicated, due to virus scanning software and firewalls. Well now when I try to start 4.3.15 (On Windows 7 64-bit) I get the BSOD (famous BLUE SCREEN). I will go back to 4.3.12, (although it doesn't appear Bridged networking works on 4.3.12, so I have to use NAT).
If this isn't fixed soon, I guess I will go back to VMware Workstation 10, which WORKS FINE......

Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Just two comments... One, unless you report the exact details of a crash, it can't and won't be fixed. Two, if you think that threatening to continue not giving Oracle any money is going to get you faster service... well, think again.KMFLOOD wrote:If this isn't fixed soon, I guess I will go back to VMware Workstation 10, which WORKS FINE......
Re: 4.3.14 conflicts with anti-virus packages.
Using latest 4.3.15-95663 on Windows 7 Ultimate
VirtualBox installs and starts. When starting a VM, get a CERT_E_REVOCATION_FAILURE error and I have to click the Abort.
Attached is the VBoxStartup log.
Sure hope this helps you out.
