Solaris 11.2 and Virtualbox

Post by agalanti_it »

Hi,
I am using an internal version of Solaris 11.2, because 11.1 has a problem with my i915 3d gen, but I am not able to use Virtualbox, even if everything seems ok:

Here is the error I get trying to start any guest:

agalanti@agalanti-pc:/export/home/agalanti/Scaricati$ VBoxManage startvm WindOS
Waiting for VM "WindOS" to power on...
VBoxManage: error: The VM session was aborted
VBoxManage: error: Details: code NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005), component SessionMachine, interface ISession

I though it could be a problem of uname, so I made a fake one to answer with 11.1, but nothing changed, any idea???

MY ENV:

agalanti@agalanti-pc:/export/home/agalanti/Scaricati$ VBoxManage -version

Are you sure you were supposed to advertise that you were running 11.2? (NDA?)

Yes, Internal use is allowed, I use it only because there is no backport fix for i915 bug in 11.1, and I cannot have daily hangs for a GPU bug. Why that question? My was a technical issue!

This might just be the worst channel to discuss problems with internal, unreleased software.

From the symptoms you described, it sounds a lot like a certain known problem, but we can't point you to the internal bug database, to updated builds, or really do anything particularly useful here.
