Assistance in choosing the hard drive file type would be appreciated.
During the installation of an operating system into a VirtualBox, the options of Hard Drive File Type are listed with VDI as the default. Is there a tutorial or source of information to determine if another type is needed? Especially one for us noobies??
For example, I'm installing a jukebox program into the operating system of my VirtualBox which will require my adding some 10+k music files into that same virtual box. Which hard drive file type would be the most appropriate to select?
I couldn't find the answer in "search forums" or the tutorial.
Thank you for your reply.

Just choose VDI, VBox's native format. I don't know why VirtualBox even offers the others.
In general, if you are offered a default then best stick with it unless you know why you should do otherwise.
