Windows Button mix-up in fullscreen

Post by hackentrick »

Hi there,

I'm running Windows XP as guest with Virtual Box 4.2 on a W2K3server host.
I usually start my virtual machine via CLI in full screen (-- fullscreen).

When I press the Windows button as a first action in the virtual machine, the Windows bar of the host (Win2K3) pops up.
If I do the same, with the same guest but started in windowed mode the Windows bar of the guest (WinXP) pops up.

It seems that the keyboard is still "connected" to the host by booting the guest in full screen. After a single mouse click (e.g. on the Desktop) the keyboard is "connected" to the guest.

Is the a misconfiguration or a bug? In any case, what can I do?

Thank you in advance!
Alex

It took me a while to realize that "Windows Button" actually means "Windows Key"?

If your problem is repeatable then you should report it on BugTracker, with a link to this thread, and you should post a log file too (as a zipped attachment please).

Yes, "Windows Button" means "Windows Key" - but "Windows Key" could also be S/N like EM12J-AB23E...... ;)

Ok, will do some more test to verify and then open a ticket on BugTracker. Thanks.
